Abstract

The capital market plays a strategic role in promoting economic growth by providing long-term financing and investment opportunities for the public. However, practices such as market manipulation and insider trading have the potential to undermine investor confidence and disrupt market integrity. This study aims to analyze the forms of capital market law violations in the case of PT Hanson International Tbk (MYRX), examine the effectiveness of law enforcement based on Law Number 8 of 1995 concerning the Capital Market, and assess its implications for investor protection and market integrity. This research employs a normative juridical method with a statutory approach, analysis of court decisions, and relevant academic literature. The findings indicate that the MYRX case contains strong indications of insider trading and market manipulation that fulfill the elements of violations as regulated under capital market laws and regulations. Although a legal framework is in place, law enforcement faces several challenges, including the complexity of proof, limited authority of supervisory institutions, and low levels of investor literacy and vigilance. This study emphasizes the importance of strengthening supervisory functions, enhancing information transparency, and developing adaptive regulatory reforms to ensure investor protection and maintain the integrity of Indonesia’s capital market.
